Hot Neighbor is an indie/alternative rock band based in Bozeman, Montana, formed in 2023. Fronted by lead vocalist and guitarist Brett Griesbaum, the band’s sound is driven by the dynamic interplay between Brett and guitarist Cooper Simmons, whose seamless transitions between lead and rhythm create a rich, layered sound. Their chemistry is the backbone of the band’s music, blending intricate melodies with powerful riffs.
Brett, originally from Missouri and now a Ph.D. student at Montana State University, brings a blend of emo and pop-punk influences to his vocal delivery and songwriting. Cooper, a Michigan native and MSU Master's student, adds an edge with his hard rock background, giving the band a distinctive sound that blends intensity and melody.
The rhythm section is rounded out by Cam Palmer, a Bozeman native with a jazz bass background, and drummer Josh Omodt from Minneapolis, whose tight, groove-driven beats keep the band grounded. Alex Sutcliff, originally from San Diego, adds a pop-punk influence, bringing a high-energy pulse to the group.
Hot Neighbor’s debut album, Solstice, reflects on personal growth, change, and finding balance in life's phases. Notable tracks like "Right Here," "Equinox," and "Changes" showcase the band’s ability to mix introspective lyrics with driving, energetic instrumentation.
